More Rock Climbing Sculptures from Dmitry in the Ukraine.

Looks like the theme to the next rock climbing wall will be a playful “Under the Sea” motif.

We asked Dmitry what his secret is to making such great holds and he shared the following link with us on how he learned to transform foam blocks into climbing holds and other shapes.  This is a great reference by Three Ball Climbing, with step by step instructions and detailed photos showing you the entire process from start to finish.

To make it simple this is the three-part process:

‘Carving shapes from the foam – Covering it with silicone – Molding with PU’.

In the below pictures, you can see that two are in phase # 1 “Carving the shapes from the foam”.  The original fish and a hermit crab.  These are the original green blue foam color.

The original foam fish has also been transformed in the last two pictures into a rock climbing hold.  The mounting holes have been added to the body and the tail of the fish.  This fish has also been painted to a very awesome electric green color.
